The second phase of the solar thermal heaters training programme, organized and implemented by the Jordanian-German Energy Partnership, helped equip the trainees with inclusive and up-to-date knowledge regarding solar thermal heater technologies and their numerous applications in the Jordanian energy sector, as well as the policies and economics associated with their use.

Dr Marwan Mokhtar from Industrial Solar led the workshop and arranged multiple sessions to cover the various topics of solar heaters and included a series of engaging discussions for each session.

Solar thermal heaters utilize the power of sunlight by focusing sun rays on a suitable collector component filled with water. The water can be heated to varying degrees and subsequently used for different applications, from electricity generation to residential space heating.

The training concluded with two separate site visits which assisted the trainees in applying their theoretical knowledge into real-world practical scenarios and identifying key areas for improvement.
