During the first Energy Event, H.E. Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and German Ambassador, H.E. Dr. Betram von Moltke visited the German Energy Academy in Jordan (GEA) highlighting the importance of the academy in preparing trainees, providing them with the necessary skills, and facilitating their access to the labor market so that they can be partners in the energy transition process.

Both Excellencies also visited the “Energy in Transition – Powering Tomorrow” exhibition that was held in Al Hussein Technical University as one of the stops for this exhibition in Jordan. They have reviewed the main pillars of the global energy transition that the exhibition highlights in addition to the possible ways to improve and enhance those pillars, in order to fasten the energy transition processes globally.

Al-Kharabsheh appreciated the German government’s support to Jordan in different sectors, especially in the energy sector, emphasizing the importance of this partnership. Dr. von Moltke confirmed that the event builds on strong diplomatic energy relations and successful cooperation in the energy field between Jordan and Germany and acknowledged the GEA as a place where knowledge of the transition to green energy is developed.

The event concluded with Dr. Al-Kharabsheh and Dr. von Moltke handing over graduation certificates to the second batch of graduates of the GEA in the topics of solar energy installation and energy efficiency. Dr. von Moltke  considered this step as another great example of the Jordanian- German energy partnership, since the graduates are accredited according to the German standards and issued by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce Abroad.
